重视自宗
SECTION 26. Focus on One’s Own Lineage
作为一名佛教徒，不管学哪宗哪派，对自己的宗派要有牢固的定解，对自己有缘的法和有缘的本尊，要有坚固的信心。
As a Buddhist of any lineage, you should have firm certainty on the views and steadfast devotion to the Dharma and the deity connected to you.
当然，只有信心还不够，还必须长期修行。
Obviously devotion alone is not adequate, so long-term practice is required.
对于自宗，无论是所学的理论、所诵的仪轨心咒、所修的道次第及窍诀的运用，都要做到了如指掌。
As for one’s own lineage, whether it is the specific theories one learns, the sādhanas and mantras one recites, or the stages of the path and pith instructions one practices, one should know them inside out.
有时间你也可以去学习研究其他宗派，但重点要放在自宗上。
If you have plenty of time, you can study and investigate other lineages, but your focus should be on your own lineage.
就像上师麦彭仁波切说，他今世转生于莲花生大士的教法中，感到十分荣幸，对自宗有着不共的诚信。
Guru Mipham Rinpoché said that he felt extremely fortunate to have been born in the teachings of Guru Padmasambhava and had extraordinary faith in this lineage.
我这一世生在宁玛派教法下，也将主要精力放在自宗的修持和弘扬上，
For myself, I was born in the Nyingma lineage and have focused primarily on practicing and spreading this lineage.
在此基础上，再无偏地学习和弘扬各宗各派。
On top of that, I have unbiasedly studied and spread other lineages and traditions.
不论出家人还是在家居士，都不要整天到处乱跑，参观寺院、参访各种人士，
Whether you are monastics or lay practitioners, you should avoid traveling around too much, visiting a variety of monasteries, or meeting with a range of people all day long;
这样到头来会一无所得，白白浪费宝贵的光阴。
otherwise you will end up gaining nothing and wasting precious time in vain.
每个人要尽可能持之以恒、深入一门地修持自宗，
Every individual should practice his or her own lineage perseveringly, thoroughly, and wholeheartedly.
这应该是人生中最重要的一件大事。
This should be the most important thing in our lives.
